GREENER PASTURES

 What is this thing that drives us to need MORE? Or newer or different? It’s as if the state of being fulfilled is unattainable – a life of ‘If Only’s’ and ‘What If’s’. I’m not talking about healthy ambition but undermining, relentless, insatiable desires that perhaps stem from our perception of poor self-worth and/or a spirit of disappointment(i.e. We’re just not good enough!) Some would say that this is the result of a perception of inadequacy – our perception, but not God’s.

We serve the one true God who is more than enough, our portion, even our overflow. Only He can quench the thirst that rages within. May we REST IN and STAND on this truth.

Let’s pray. Lord, help us to stop our busyness and be still before you. Give us the courage to allow you to fill and refresh the deserts of our souls. We repent of and ask you to crowd out the spirit of discontent so that our restless hearts would be satiated by your Living Waters.
