SPRING FORWARD

Sunday March 10th the time changed and the phrase ‘spring forward’ was heard reminding us which way to turn our clocks. This is also a reminder of the value of moving ahead and letting go of the past. What do I need to ‘let go’ of? My failures, immature thinking, my ‘out of sync with truth’ ways of living, and painful past situations for starters.

Paul assessed and recognized his past helping him and letting go of it was necessary to gain spiritual maturity. Springing forward in life there is a new playing field – an unwritten story of my life. It is debilitating to hold on to the past. Once I have looked honestly at my life, it is obvious what I want to run from – not repeat. However, it is then I have the opportunity to evaluate and establish a more beneficial way to live and walk in life.

Mark 3:10 reveals people pushing forward to touch Jesus for healing of body, heart and soul.  These people saw hope and possibilities in Jesus way, truth and life. Reaching out to Christ through the Holy Spirit to accomplish a life of meaning and maturity, I hold on and use the truths in Philippians 3:13-14: “I know I have not arrived; but there’s one thing I am doing: I’m leaving my old life behind, putting everything on the line for this mission. I am sprinting toward the only goal that counts: to cross the line, to win the prize, and to hear God’s call to resurrection life found exclusively in Jesus the Anointed.” Join me as we let go of the past; touch the heart of Jesus; live Christ’s way truth and life; and hope confidently that our future (Heaven) is established as Christ followers.
